How can a CAT help me?

A dental CAT(CT) scan provides invaluable information when diagnosing Temporomandibular joint(TMJ) dysfunction and implant bone levels. It creates 3D images to help diagnosis and ensure the longevity of any TMJ, implant, or cosmetic case with accurate measurements. A dental CT uses much less exposure to radiation compared to a medical CT and is comparable to film x-rays used for decades in the past, however with an incredible amount of usable information. Traditionally, x-rays were used to evaluate the TMJ joint or how much bone was present to begin an implant case. However using a 2D image to evaluate and treat a 3D object(your jaw) in real life had shortcomings and could not replicate real life conditions. The 3D CT provides a highly accurate computer model to help create the best diagnosis and treatment outcome without the guesswork of using only a 2D x-ray image. Feel free to call us and we can explain how a CT can help your treatment.
