Congratulations to Dr.Do
The International Association for Orthodontics has chosen Dr.Do's article :The Effects of Mandibular Position on Airway and TMD" as their October monthly tip. This case report highlights the relationship between temporomandibular joint disorder and how it negatively affects the airway opening. TMD has been shown to also have a link with obstructive sleep apnea, which incidentally is also related to a narrow airway. Unfortunately, many clinicians treat OSA with palliative treatment such as a CPAP, and ignore curing the true origin of OSA which is the narrow airway and TMD.
